LEAVE IMMEDIATELY: Cooktown vegetation fire as at 6:00pm Sat 3 Oct 2020

Bushfire warning level: EMERGENCY WARNING

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises there is a bushfire travelling on both sides of Oaky Creek Road in Cooktown. Leaving immediately is the safest option, as it will soon be too dangerous to drive.

Follow your bushfire survival plan now. If you do not have a plan, your safest option is to leave immediately if it is clear to do so. If you cannot leave, identify where you will seek shelter from the bushfire. If you are not in the area, do not return, as… More

Phew – after a massive season of change we got here – the final week. A few things for this weekend;
1. Keep Covid Safe – use the EVA app at every ground, bring your own water bottle, fist bump, and where practical get changed prior to arriving at the field.

2. Sunday will be a massive day at Caloundra Juniors – allow extra time for parking, getting into the ground and getting out of the ground. The bonus of being early is you get to watch even more footy.

3. Be flexible – there’s been a few forfeits this weekend already, check you emails for changes. Remember the aim is for everyone to be safe and have fun, work with the clubs to facilitate in this.
